The woman with the issue

A Poem written by Chrisme Visagie – based on sermon by Dave van Wyk

She was a nobody
No name, no fame, only pain unending
A history marked by suffering
A future not worth mentioning
Physically, emotionally and financially drained

But then:

She heard!
She heard of a Man like no other man
a Man who walked on this earth with the authority of heaven
a Man whose words made ripples into the future
a Man who could command the wind and the waves
a Man who loved
a Man who healed

And she chose:

She chose to believe
And she chose to have faith
And she chose to put her faith into action
Risking rejection and shame she pushed through the crowds
her mind focused on the One
She has seen herself touching Him
She has seen herself healed
Nothing was going to stop her

Her proclamation of faith bearing open a path through the crowd
“If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be healed”
Did she even understand the power of her words?

And then
The Moment
Connection
She felt it, she received it, she knew

In an instant she was healed
She was somebody!
The past was no more
She had a future and a hope
She was a child of God – loved, forgiven and restored

She was you

and she was me
